Smooth transition to new management at Much Birch Surgery

Posted on:

Since February this year, Much Birch Surgery has been managed by Taurus Healthcare, the GP Federation for Herefordshire. This was necessary due to a number of changes to the practice partnership in the past two years, reducing the number of partners from five to just one.

This position of ‘last man standing’ is not uncommon in practices throughout the country but is unsustainable and often results in surgeries’ closure. Here in Herefordshire, the surgery could see ‘the writing on the wall’ so engaged with the Federation early on to find a way to keep the surgery open for the benefit of patients and staff.

We have communicated with patients throughout this transition. In particular, we wanted to reassure you that you would see no day-to-day changes at the surgery and would continue to receive the same quality of service as previously. In fact, since the change we have received many positive comments from patients.

Our practice team has remained largely the same, with Drs Seftel, Johnson, Baxter, Haverty, Cutler and Vaughan continuing to see patients alongside the nursing team, paramedics, our surgery physiotherapist and social prescriber. Our team of receptionists and surgery administrators are also here to help and support you.

Together we are optimistic about the future and look forward to serving you, our patients, as best as we can.

As always, we welcome constructive feedback on any aspect of our service. There are a number of ways to do this – please visit our Feedback and Complaints page for further details.
