Our trained Receptionists will ask you a little bit about the reason you are requesting an appointment so that they can direct you to the most appropriate clinican to deal with your medical issue.  All of our Receptionists are fully trained and will respect your confidentiality.  

Telephone and face to face appointments are available.

In addition to the practice’s normal opening hours you can also book an appointment in the evenings and weekends.   This may be with a different GP, nurse or location than you are used to.  These appointments are pre-bookable by contacting the surgery during our opening times – please ask for an extended access appointment with Taurus.

Please note that these are not walk-in centres and you will need to make an appointment.

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. 

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. A clinician will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it, after appropriate triage, and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

The visiting clinican may be a Paramedic, Advanced Clincal Practitioner or GP.

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor / Clinician, please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

Chaperones

If you feel you would like a chaperone present at your consultation, please inform your doctor/nurse, who will be more than happy to arrange this for you.

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. 

If you recieve text appointment reminders you can use these to cancel an appointment.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To use this service you will need to ensure the practice has your up to date mobile number.
